As digital communications manager, you will be responsible for implementing HNTB’s digital communications strategy to effectively convey the firm’s brand messages across a variety of digital platforms. In this role, you will work closely with subject matter experts to plan, develop and implement content and create memorable experiences through digital content. This role requires a person with knowledge of how best to convey messages in multiple formats and across communication channels and a person who stays current with industry trends.

As digital communications manager, you will be responsible for implementing HNTB’s digital communications strategy to effectively convey the firm’s brand messages across a variety of digital platforms. Responsibilities: Strategic Planning: Develops and leads overall digital communications strategy in alignment with HNTB’s business goals and brand.

Content Creation: Develops and produces content for various channels, including HNTB’s internet, HNTB’s website, social media, email marketing, paid digital advertising, and the HNTB app.

Collaboration: Collaborates with designers, content producers and additional resources to ensure consistent messaging across all of HNTB’s digital platforms.

Analytics: Develops metrics to analyze effectiveness of digital communication efforts and provide recommendations based on analysis.

Team Leadership: Leads a team of communications professionals and provide guidance and feedback.

Communications Adviser: Collaborates with leaders and teams across the firm to ensure a cohesive and integrated digital strategy is implemented firmwide. Offer guidance on best practices in digital communications.

Budget Management: Creates and manages digital communications budget.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in communications, marketing or related field and 8 years of digital communications experience including 2 years leading and planning digital communications programs, or In lieu of education, 12 years of relevant experience

Responsibilities:
• Under the supervision of the Head of Marketing and Communications and through collaborative engagement with the staff, this role will execute and implement marketing and communications strategies and accompanying materials, including but not limited to the following:

o Social Media & Website Management: Consistently plan and create engaging content that connects with key audiences through storytelling, visuals and interactive elements; take and edit photos and video that reflect the NSPJ brand; write and produce content in the “NSPJ voice”; effectively interpret and analyze data to inform strategic decisions to increase engagement; must be able to adjust writing style to specific audiences as needed

o Materials and Administration: Craft, proof and/or coordinate the creation of printed, digital and visual display materials in line with NSPJ Brand, such as: RFPs, brochures, presentations, signage and displays for various purposes; coordinate project photoshoots; coordinate and produce internal communications to keep team members informed through newsletters and slideshows; ensure materials are executed within budget and on-time; maintain organization of marketing-related materials and images for easy access and reference

o Outreach: Coordinate and execute the Firm’s media and publicity efforts, including, but not limited to: paid advertising, story pitches, press releases, contest entries, charitable giving and sponsorships

Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, communications, business OR an unrelated degree with commensurate experience of at least 5 years • Minimum of 2 years* of professional experience in marketing or closely related field, such as communications, news or PR • Proficiency with social media platforms and digital tools • Proficiency in: Adobe Creative Suite (esp. InDesign, Photoshop, Premier Pro), WordPress and MS Office Suite • Understanding of brand standards and general graphic design principles • Experience and involvement with a variety of advertising/marketing campaigns • Experience in, or demonstrated understanding of, Architecture, Construction, Engineering or closely-related field preferred; Essential Employment Requirements: • Daily attendance for a typical workday and accurate recording of time • Essential for the effective performance in this role and the successful operation of the firm’s business, the individual must be able to communicate (verbal and written) effectively and constructively in English with NSPJ employees, consultants, and clients in order to convey and understand details relating to projects and other business-related items. • Able to work cooperatively with co-workers and teams through all stages of design and construction • Ability to work efficiently and meet project deadlines • Knowledge and daily use of computers and the computer programs used in the office for job description • Ability to work at a desk throughout the workday; adjustable (sit or stand) desks are standard • Must be able to see, interpret, and analyze data in color on computer screens/programs and paper • Performs effectively under conditions of occasional high stress and pressure • Own and able to effectively use a smartphone for required two-factor authentications, social media posting and scheduling (including Instagram)
